The cable chain links fit well together making this necklace lay flat nicely over your neck. The links are gold plated several times. This necklace has a nice weight and feel to it. This metal necklace is circa 1950 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from the finest department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.
