Jolle bracelet white enamel links cut out red leaf leaves size 6.5 1950s
The most I have found in research is that this company was established in 1943, and was still in business in the 50s. Hmmm, I was established in 1943 and really into jewelry by the '50s, but sure don't remember anything like this.
There are six slightly curved links, each 1 1/8 X 5/8 inch. Each has a leaf shaped cutout and pale cream or white enamel. Hinged together in a unique way, with a double leaf piece that fits into the holes (1 leaf piece between 2 links) and wraps across the back of the link end.
These leaves are dabbed with either very shiny enamel or an early resin over cold paint - in this case bright red. When the bracelet flexes, the leaves pop up, so one end or the other of the leafy link is always slightly out of the leafy shaped hole.
The bar that the fold over clasp fits into is unique also: round like a wire, with two flanges for the clasp to fit between.
The bracelet is size 6 1/2 on my bracelet mandrel - yes, it measures seven inches long, but the metal takes up a bit of space. Oh, the metal? Pot metal with bright gold tone plating...which has worn away on the back of the hinges, some areas of the back of the links and along the rim on the top of some links.
Considering that we're looking at 50 to 70 years of use, display or storage, the condition is actually quite amazing for vintage.
Pre-owned of course. p.s. Not a lot of these survived, so sort of rare.
