Late 40's to the 1950's deep crown wide brim hat. Stiff net base is covered in a blue grey voile fabric which is gathered and draped. Crown is very deep, measuring 4 inches while the brim curves down 5 1/2 inches with another 1/2 inch of fabric. It appears to have been designed for a wedding.

Inner circumference is 21 1/2 inches.

Label is Modernette, Stix, Baer and Fuller. Stix, Baer and Fuller was a department store chain in St. Louis, Missouri that operated from 1892 to 1984 at which time they sold to Dillards. Modernette was their millinery label.

There are condition issues. Several places in the fabric with spotting two of which I have photographed. The interior grosgrain ribbon is stained and the net base has some discoloration. Still it is too unique to not be worn again.
