50s Black Tulle Lace Party Dress Gothic Evening Gown$95.00
Make all your goth princess dreams come true with this darkly whimsical 1950s evening gown! Sheer tiers of black nylon tulle form the full-length skirt. The boned bodice has wide, gathered shoulder straps in black tulle, and a pleated bust panel. This bust panel is inset into the black and metallic lace bodice, with an unusual, curved top edge that lets the pleated tulle peek out. The black lace is most likely acetate, threaded with metallic highlights. The bodice fastens with a metal zipper in the side seam. The wide shoulder straps are diagonal in back, meeting at the center of the bodice. The skirt section of the dress consists of 3 tiered layers of tulle, each with a pointed, “handkerchief” hem. The dress is fully lined with black acetate taffeta. (It is shown here with a full, fluffy crinoline underneath the skirt, which is not included.) In good, very wearable condition, this fabulous 1950s party dress has a few flaws to mention (also, see photos of each issue). The hem of the longest/lowest skirt layer of tulle is a bit rough, all around, and has a section missing from the center front. Also, there is a tiny tear on the tulle on the top edge of the pleated bodice panel. There is a small, light-colored mark on the left side of the skirt. Finally, the metallic threads in the lace are a bit tarnished. This dramatic 1950s dress is still very wearable, and presents well!
