This is an incredible 50s Mollie Parnis Dress and Jacket set. It is made of two different kinds of rich black silks. The dress is a gorgeous black taffeta. It’s a stunning fit and flair silhouette with a deep V Shelf-ish styled bust and short dolman sleeves. The skirt of the dress shows the fine detail work that was put into this dress with row upon row of tiny pintuck panels that make up a wonderfully full skirt. The full skirt allows the taffeta to make a beautiful swishing noise as you walk. The dress pulls over the head with a side metal zipper at the side. It also comes with its own petticoat. The petticoat is not very full but is very stiff. It is made of a stiff black tulle netting and also has a side metal zipper and hanger straps that allow it to be hung with the dress.

The other piece of the set is the killer black silk faille swing coat. The coat just completes this set and gives it a wonderfully polished look that also can look incredibly badass. If you have ever watched Mrs. Maisel, this set would have come right out of her stunning closet. The coat hangs open with long shawl-styled lapels down the front. The sleeves hang to ¾ length and have massive wide hanging cuffs that are adorned with wonderfully large rhinestone buttons. The coat has a pocket on each side and they are fantastically large to hold whatever you might need to carry with you. The coat is also fully lined in soft rayon.

Both the dress and the coat have the Mollie Parnis label but the coat has another label that reads: Mary Commings Topeka Kansas, and I believe that that is the store that it was sold from.

The set is in great condition with no flaws to note. The set has been professionally hand laundered and is ready to wear.
