Live out your inner child fantasies of being a girly-girl, in this vintage 1950's doll-like dress...

This funny little dress is a bit of a conundrum: the style and silhouette say 'little girl' but the sizing says 'adult person'...so my best guess is that this was some sort of a costume (especially due to length of skirt, which would've been considered very short for a grown-up woman in the 1950's!). It definitely reminds me of a babydoll dress! The bodice of this dress is made of a lightweight, white cotton blend fabric with flocked (fuzzy to the touch) floral print. The flounced, short sleeves, big Bertha-style collar and skirt are made of a medium-weight, apple green-colored Swiss Dot fabric (the dots in the pattern are raised and fuzzy/flocked). The sleeves are trimmed with a super delicate floral themes lace, while the skirt hem is finished with an exaggerated scallop style trim. 22" length metal zipper closure at center back. Dress appears to be homemade due to extensive use of zig-zag stitch, but is extremely well-made! Overall condition is good, with some light brown stain streaks toward upper right back/shoulder area (please see pics).
