Chanel Inspiration here! This exquisitely-made formal skirt suit is elegance in 3 pieces. Black velvet & satin charmeuse (shortened, to keep up with rising hemlines--one photo shows what it would have looked like in the 50s) pencil skirt suit, no plder than 1955, no newer than 1962, but there's much about this that says it's more 50s than 60s. Black rayon velvet (not velveteen) & ivory acetate satin charmeuse. Underdress (shown) with lined pencil skirt, taffeta top and metal zipper. Cap sleeve blouse is cropped with 2 front notches trimmed with bows, closes with a metal zipper in back. No shoulder seams, gusseted underarms, wide scoop neck with snaps in shoulders to hold slip straps in place. Bracelet sleeve jacket, trimmed with braid (a la Chanel), shoulder pads, faux pockets, lined in ivory charmeuse. Amazing passementerie buttons, no shoulder seams, gusseted underarms. Lots of photos, so please check all of them. There's a cardboard tag with writing in the jacket, making this look like it was custom made. Blouse & jacket make great SEPARATES!

AND THE CONDITION IS....Some marks in the bodice of the underdress, which is covered with the blouse. Otherwise flawless.
