FEATURES: From the estate of Irene Saltern, for years the head designer for Tabak of California, comes this late 50s/early 60s pink blouse. Featuring ladder faggoting down the front, it's made of 100% rayon. The rayon is slightly slubbed, giving it the look of shantung silk. This has the hidden button at the waistline to give a smooth look when blouse is worn untucked and to minimize “bump” when blouse is tucked in.

This is from the Tabak “Tie-Ins,” separates that were made to go with many other pieces in the line. At the time, this was a fresh concept in wardrobes, and very few did it better than Tabak of California and Irene Saltern! This blouse coordinates with the skirt shown (but not included), a matching jacket, and a pair of walking shorts. Those will be listed within the next few days. However, it can be worn with other pieces in your wardrobe.

CONDITION: Mint, unworn with tag.

SIZE: Approx. small to a "small-medium," about a size 6. Meant to fit comfortably loose, so has some flexibility in sizing. Shown on an approx. size 6/8 dress form, unpinned except to take up extra room through the arm area (because form has no arms). Please use the measurements below to determine fit.

PROVENANCE: Irene Saltern was head designer for Tabak of California, Phil Rose, and other California makers, including her own label. Ms. Saltern was a costume designer for the movies and later on, a very influential figure in the booming California sportswear industry. Many of these estate pieces were runway samples, spec pieces, or from her own wardrobe. Ms. Saltern's selection of fine fabrics and the quality of the workmanship she insisted on are impeccable!
