50s/60s Slice-of-pie Topaz Rhinestone Pendant Necklace$32.00
The pendant on this lovely mid century rhinestone necklace offers four "slices" of a lovely luscious topaz rhinestones, with one pulled up to the top of the pendant. Only you won't have to share! The pendant is 2" long, and 1.25" wide.
This necklace, with its coffee and cream coloring, would make a stunning piece to add to your autumn collection. The aurora borealis rhinestones offer unexpected flashes of strawberry and bachelor-button blue to this confection.
In between the "slices" and along the chain are smaller prong set citrine colored rhinestones (a very pale yellow - almost moonlight). Embellishing either side of the removed "slice" are additionally two aurora borealis stones. Those date this unusual and scrumptious necklace to late 50s, possibly early 60s.
Not surprisingly this pendant choker pops against black and earthy greens–but unexpectedly, it also works well with coral which would offer a rich West Indian feel to an island ensemble. Because of the subdued color it is a way to wear rhinestones that aren't to-over-the-top if paired with more bohemian and layered ensembles.
At 15" at its longest, the traditional J-hook closure will allow shorter lengths, even bringing this up onto the neck as a true choker, with the pendant resting in the hollow of the throat...at this length, however, be aware the closure will then be offset.
As with all collectible and vintage jewelry expect some minor wear but this necklace is in fabulous condition.
