Vintage 1950s MCM Colorful Rainbow Abacus Midcentury Ideal School Supply Co 50s

Visually striking, this modern computing school room abacus dates to the 1950s and has the original label attached to the wooden base which reads “Ideal School Supply Company Chicago 20, Illinois” This retro learning tool features ten columns of rainbow colored plastic discs which are threaded onto metal spindles. The spindles are attached to a sturdy, blonde wood base. There are 9 discs of each color.

This vintage item is in excellent shape with only a small sliver of wood chipped on the corner of the wooden base and a couple of very minor chips and fading on the lucite pieces. which does not detract from the overall vibe of this piece. The original sticker is attached and easily readable. 90 Lucite colored discs. The piece measures 20 by 3½ by 6 inches. This piece would make a great addition to your old school toy collection or library. Or display it on a shelf or dresser to add some whimsy and color to your home.
