DETAILS: A classic 1950s day dress, aka house dress, in a quietly interesting print. The short sleeved bodice has a wide front collar that turns into a short self-fabric tie. The skirt is A-line, with a curving inset pocket on each side of the skirt.

FABRIC/COLORS: This is an unusual print, sort of plaid, and sort of floral, in subtle colors. The background is off-white, with a dark windowpane plaid that looks like it was done with an airbrush. The overlay is a different windowpane pattern, using garlands of roses, done in several shades of brown.

TAGS: No tags

CLOSURES: The bodice closes with four black plastic shank buttons - there is a short open placket just below.

CONDITION: Each button originally had a large rhinestone embedded in the center - all the rhinestones are gone, leaving a dull gold color behind - see closeup for idea. The dress can certainly be worn as is - your other options would be to replace the rhinestones or replace the buttons. The fabric is uniformly faded. The dress itself has no stain, holes or other issues noted.
