VTG Khaki Berkshire Marine Officers Hat Cap Visor COVER Quatrefoil 6 5/8” USMC
There are small button holes on either side that allowed an officer to unscrew the buttons on the side of the hat and switch covers from summer to winter to formal as needed. Khaki wool has a braided mesh side and looping braid on the top of the crown. There are a few tiny holes in the wool and a couple of Interior has a khaki green taffeta lining and tags:

6 5/8 size tag, USMC manufacturing authorization tag, and one that says ALL WOOL Lee Uniform Cap Mfg Co Balitmore, Md. The use of the the lower case in Md was in use in the late 1950s/early 1960s before the US Post Office adopted the 2 capital letter abbreviation as a standard.

Some light fraying on inside seams.
