60's Ice Blue Silk Jacquard Brocade Dress$75.00
This potential wedding dress whispers of luxury and refinement...
There's an exquisite blend of two fanciful colors in this dress: the palest of icy blues & light, frothy champagne gold. These 2 colors make up the wonderful fruits (?) & florals pattern in this very fine silk jacquard brocade. There is a very light sheen to the blue sections, whereas the champagne ground has a luxe lustre. The silhouette of this dress is a little fit and flare, but with a more demure style of tailoring (nothing too revealing!), very simple with princess seam cut. The weight of the brocade lends a light stiffness which adds to the silhouette, giving the skirt an almost bubble-like roundness. The interior of this dress is lined in a lightweight woven silk (silk linings aren't common and often a sign of high-end craftsmanship!). Center back of dress features a metal zipper closure, along with hook & hand-crafted eye (another sign of fine work). I believe this dress was boutique-made or crafted by an expert stitcher. The fabrics, hand-finished details & lovely cut are all signs that this is a special piece, made for someone special. There are no labels or maker's marks. The condition is very good w/3 very light rust-colored stains at left breast, as well as light underarm stains, & 1 tiny repaired hole at left underarm. Please see photographs for details.
