This beautiful shirtwaist dress from the late 1950s or early 1960s features a beautiful, faded madras plaid in shades of blues and reds. It was made by Serbin, a popular clothing company open from 1943 to 1991, from imported fabric. It has four buttons up the chest and fastens with a snap and a hook and eye at the waist.
Pictured on a size 2/4 dress form and it would button but the waist was too small. I believe you could adjust the placement of the snap and the hook and eye at the waist to get an extra inch. Please review measurements below.
Measurements
Bust: 34 inches
Waist: 24 inches
Length: 41 inches
Condition: Very good vintage condition. Only flaw I noted was overall fading, However, this is typical of these fabrics as they often didn't come with instructions to only wash in cold water and were even advertised as "guaranteed to bleed."
