50s 60s Brutalist Atomic Brooch Pin by Arthur Pepper Art Signed Gold and Silver Tone 2. 5" X 2. 25 "$199.00
I have had this pin for many, many years. As an artist, I love jewelry that reflects an artistic genre, and this struck me as an homage to abstract art. Later, the term "Brutalist" began to be used, and before that, Atomic, but, to me, it's just wonderful, no matter how you think of it. Signed by "ART", I later learned this stands for Arthur Pepper, a jewelry designer, who worked from the 40s to the 70s. I'll never forget I was wearing this in NYC back in the 80's and a gentleman just HAD to compliment me on it. I like the fact that there are both silver and gold toned metals used, so easy to wear with anything. I vowed I would NEVER part with it, but then I found another, priced very reasonably, allowing me to keep one and share the other. After searching for quite a while, I still could not find another one identical to this, to determine a price. So I am just going to start high, and see where that takes me! measures 2. 50" tall x 2. 25" wide x .50 thick. Very three dimensional and sculptural! Wonderful wedding or other special gift!
