Lovely vintage 50s medium weight cashmere and angora blend cardigan sweater.

Gorgeous 2 to 3 ply cashmere / angora blend cardigan with round ball buttons embellished with iridescent black beads as pictured.

Longer length with 3" tall finished side slits. Bracelet length sleeves.

The collar, sleeve ends, both sides of the front and around the bottom are embellished with 7" wide black silk ribbon as pictured.

Does up the center front with hidden metal hook and eyes. The buttons are decorative only and do not function.

The body of the sweater is lined with lightweight black silk. The sleeves are unlined.

This sweater is very soft and not itchy or scratchy at all.

This sweater is "full-fashioned" meaning it was knit into shape, rather than being cut and sewn from a flat piece of knit fabric.

No labels. However, I have handled hundreds of cashmere and angora sweaters, and this is either cashmere or a cashmere/angora blend.

I would say this is most likely made in Hong Kong in the last part of the 1950s or early 1960s.

SIZING: Based on the measurements below, I'd say this would best fit a modern size Small to Medium depending on how you like your fit.

Inner Sleeves:. 9-1/2" underarm to sleeve end

Bust: 37"

Waist: 36"

Bottom: 37" (with 3" inch finished side slits)

Length: 20-3/4" - Center Back to Sweater Bottom

CONDITION: Excellent - no fading, discoloration, holes, rips, stains, snags, odors, broken beads, or other issues. The knit is very strong and not thin or stressed.
