50s Virgin Wool Shawl Collar Cardigan$171.00
This cardigan is such a classic layering piece. It was made in the late 1950s (possibly early 1960s) by the label "British Vogue" who was known for produce knitwear of exceptional quality. In a garment of this age, "virgin wool" is specifically referring to the very first wool taken from a lamb (its first shearing), which is the softest and finest wool a sheep will produce in its life. Thus, this piece is warm but very soft, unlike scratchier wool. The knit has a soft "popcorn" texture. It features a shawl collar, with small patch pockets, and pearlescent buttons down the front. The cropped length makes it flattering, and easy to wear with a variety of bottoms.
Measurements: The knit does have some natural stretch, a nd these measurements are not considering that.
Shoulders: 16.75"
Chest/underarms: 37"
Waist: 34"
Opening at bottom: 32"
Sleeves: 21.25"
Sleeve opening: 8" (it's a bit small)
Length: 19.5" from shoulder to hem
