50’s Yellow Rose Chiffon Dress$174.00
Fab 50s (or early 60s) chiffon party dress. No fabric content tag, but it seems to be a sheer ivory synthetic chiffon with a yellow rose (and green leaves) print. Toward the hem there are a profusion of roses forming a beautiful border print. Dress is fully lined with an ivory/cream satin acetate fabric. Sleeveless bodice has a draped boat neckline and is fitted at the waist with diagonal tucks that release under the bust. Very full frothy skirt is pleated on at the waist seam. The length is below the knee to mid calf, depending on your height. Square scoop neck in back and a 15" metal zipper. Well taken care of over the years, there is only some slight yellowing at the armholes, hard to detect because the dress is a yellowish hue. All photos were taken with a petticoat and the 2nd to last one with a belt and these are not included. The union label, shown in the last photo, dates the dress to between 1955-1963. Pin up rockabilly mid century dress is perfect for cocktails, party or prom!
