This item is sold from an excellent, highly rated vintage boutique in New York, New York.
In 2012 I had a brick-and-mortar vintage clothing & housewares shop in Brooklyn, NYC and Imalways had people stopping by with vintage things to sell to me. One of my regular customers had recently cleaned out their family's old storage space outside of Philly. They had once owned a sundries shop that closed in the early 60's and whatever merchandise was leftover went into storage. I was lucky enough to purchase a few of the items, and much of the deadstock(never sold but still considered new) fabric I am still selling to this day (see our sewing section in the shop). While I had this fabric for sale in my shop, I was also offering the service of making halter tops-to-fit, utilizing an old 1950's McCall's halter top pattern (with 5 different styles). This particular halter top was the 'floor model' on our mannequin, for an idea of what this style looked like. This lt. wt. 100% cotton halter top features a ruched center front detail and cross strap back. The back secures closed with three matching green plastic buttons. The fabric pattern is a printed (trompe l'oeil) check weave of tones of green, with black and white chalk line marks. The 'cup' sections of the top are cut on a bias, to allow stretch for a variety of sizes. Please note: this top didn't fit my mannequin so it has been pinned tight for photographing. The second-to-last photo shows the back without pinning.
Measurements:
- 32" under bust (upper rib cage)
- up to 34" bust
- 20.5" cross strap length
