50’s Rose Imitation Pearl Bib Collar Necklace$160.00
This 1950's mid-century faux pearl bib choker necklace is a statement piece to say the least! In this era pearl necklaces were extremely popular. Imitation pearls were the most in demand, even among the wealthier classes. Jewelers offered a range of qualities in imitation pearls, some fetching a very high price, and often preferred to genuine pearls because of their “indestructible” properties. This necklace in particular is made of hundreds of high quality faux pearls in a bib / collar style, with scalloped edging and and rows of intricate hand sewn silver toned beadwork separating the rows of peals. The pearls are a rose champagne in coloration and the piece is backed with a silky lining. It as it's original woven label on the back which reads, "MADE IN JAPAN" and it's closure is a sturdy metal hook and eye. It looks stunning with everything from a strapless dress to a button up shirt!
Condition: Great vintage condition with no damages to note and no missing beads. It was previously kept by a collector in a display case - so the condition is excellent.
