This is a lovely 50's Rialto Vintage Lucite Rootbear Handbag with Thick Clear Cut Etched Lid with Leaf Etchings around the Bottom of the Bag

It is featured in "Plastic Handbags Sculpture to Wear" by Kate Dooner, Page 34. Kate "states that Rialto definitely was one of the most elegant manufacturers."

They were one of the brands based out of New York along with Tyrolean, Fre-Mor and Llewellyn, Gilli, Maxim, and Charles Foster.

Measurement: Length - 7. 5"

Width - 4. 5"

Height without handle - 4" with handle - 9"

If you enlarge the 8th picture you can see the Rialto company name engraved on the brass hinge.

NEAR MINT CONDITION - The rootbeer color is very Rare in this condition! There are a few very minor scratches, no cracks, discolors, or clouding. There is a faint odor, probably from being exposed to intense heat at some point. You will notice the price reflect these small imperfections. Kate Dooner valued the retail on this handbag at $350-375 in 2005.
