This 1950s rhinestone necklace and earrings set or parure is most likely an unsigned Regency set, with blue aurora borealis stones and smoky blue and grey stones in japanned dark metal settings. Some of the settings have lots of prongs, more than usual, while others have a scalloped design, also unusual. The 50s choker style necklace is constructed with a row of large, round iridescent stones, and a row of smaller, marquise cut rhinestones below. Its length can be adjusted, using the hook and tail closure. The matching clip-on earrings have the same blue and smoky grey ab rhinestones, and dark metal leaves. Neither the necklace or earrings is signed, but it certainly looks very much like other, signed Regency pieces we have seen from the same period. The set is in very good condition, with some wear to the japanned metal surfaces on the back of the pieces, which will not be seen from the front, when they are worn.
Necklace: length adjusts from 13" to 15. 75" and width is .75" at center front
Earrings: 1" in diameter
Label: unsigned, almost certainly Regency
