50’s Print Dress Peekaboo Sheer Striping$58.00
At first glance, this is a very nice slightly dressy vintage dress, quietly ladylike in choice of fabric and style. But look at the pinstripe-style detailing. There is 1/4" see-through netting between each stripe - 8 of them - all the way down the front of the dress. Now most of us will choose to wear a slip underneath, in fact, I recommend it. But a flesh-colored body stocking would be an interesting choice as well. The bodice is styled with a notched neckline - deep pleats at the shoulder and vertical darting into the waist provide fit for the bust area. The swingy skirt has 10 gores.

FABRIC/COLORS: The floral print of asters or daisies is done using two soft shades of green - a light sea green and muted forest green, along with two subtle shades of taupe/brown plus white. The fabric is lightweight with a slightly crisp feel. Based on a fiber burn test, this is synthetic - most likely a nylon blend.
TAGS: No tags at all, and may have been custom made.
CLOSURES: The dress closes with a sideseam metal zipper. There are threadloops for a belt but no belt. I have shown the dress in some photos with a belt from my own closet. It is not included with purchase.
CONDITION: The fabric is a little faded in the underarm area and along the upper back. There is also some seam stress in the right underarm - see closeup. No stains, holes, tears or other issues noted.
