This Handbag is noted as Rare due to its Lucite Carving and the way that it sits on a tabletop. The Carving is Rare in that the Lid is carved on the inside and the outside in alternate rows. Normally Lucite Handbags are carved on one side or the other. When you sit it down on a counter or tabletop it sits held by its wide carved handle either positioned to the front or to the back. This is because it has a rounded bottom which is also unusual. The Carvings on the lid are long narrow ovals, and the wide handle is carved with a leaf pattern. The carved envelope style lid snaps to close which is also somewhat rare and it has a ball design right at the closure. There is not a maker name on this handbag, but it is a high quality heavy lucite.
