Gorgeous cotton blend lightweight skirt suit by Weathervane by Handmacher. Circa late 1950s to early 1960s.
The jacket features a slightly boxy cut with diagonal bust darts and bracelet length sleeves.
Notched collar embellished with textured black flat cord trim as pictured. Decorative non-functional front pocket flaps with the same black trim.
Does up the center front with four 1" diameter black lucite buttons with bound buttonholes (a sign of a quality suit).
Shoulder pads for shaping - can be easily removed with a few snips of the scissors if you prefer a natural shoulder line.
There are finished 2" vents at the right and left side seams.
Matching pencil skirt features a 7/8" wide self fabric waistband. Fastens with one button and a nylon zipper on the left side. The zipper is a well done replacement as this suit would have originally had a metal zipper.
Both the jacket and the skirt are unlined and appropriate for warmer weather wear.
