50’s Black Taffeta and Peach Satun Panel Dress$139.00
A darling 40s-50s cocktail dress by Frank Tisch, made of great quality black taffeta with a unique coppery-peach satin panel accented by elegant braided trim & matching beads. The dress has a fitted bodice with decorative buttons, dropped waist, full skirt, V-neckline front & back, half sleeves, and side metal zipper closure. There is an attached petticoat of stiff papery fabric as well. A fabric test suggests the fabrics are not pure silk but possibly rayon or a blend. Label info: Frank Tisch, Mr “T”, Holiday Frocks Inc. Check out more details below…
CONDITION:
Very good condition overall with the following flaws: Several scattered faint splash marks, 2 tiny darker stains, and 1 larger very faint water mark on satin portion of skirt; Stress at seam on front bodice; Petticoat is functional however there are large areas of weakness with tears arising out of that. The entire petticoat can easily be cut out which would not effect the dress, although if you want more fullness you might want to wear a separate petticoat. The bodice & sleeves also shows some creasing from wear which should come out with proper pressing/steaming. See last 3 pics for all flaws.
