The mid-weight fabric has a smooth, almost silky feel to it. The bodice of the dress is fitted, with a slightly raised waist seam, a deep V neckline with a pointed, stand collar, and short, dolman sleeves. The tall collar will frame the face beautifully, when worn! Diagonal and straight darts shape the bust area. The skirt is gathered into many tiny pleats at the waist seam, creating the fullness, below. The dress is unlined, and fastens with a metal zipper in the left side seam. Our last photo shows the dress with a simple ribbon "sash", to give an idea of how it might look when belted.This versatile late 1950s dress can be dressed up or down, from day to cocktail wear, with a change of accessories. It is in very good condition, with just a bit of fading to the print at the underarms, quite hard to notice except in extreme close up, with arms lifted (see photos). There is no odor, or any other issues to note; this authentic vintage dress is freshly laundered and ready to wear!
