Melton cloth is traditionally made of wool and is woven in a twill form. It is thick, due to having been well fulled, which gives it a felt-like smooth surface. It is napped and very closely sheared.

Fair to Good vintage condition - has wear consistent with age. The buttons have been replaced with wood buttons for a rugged look. Brand label is faded and frayed. The buttonholes need binding. Small hole on the right cuff and top left front, pictured. Cuffs are lined, but fabric is faded and slightly frayed. Stains on the back of the left sleeve, pictured. Some pilling.
