From the 1960's, Made in Hong Kong, this event-ready dress is pastel blue sheer rayon lace with silver and white beads in an overall floral swirl pattern. Distinctly mid-century, it is a shift dress shape. It features sheer beaded triangular shaped sleeves and lush 1 and 1/2 inch wide beading at the neckline and sleeve cuffs. You will be a retro delight wearing this fabulous vintage treasure. A full lining assures a smooth slimming fit. A metal back zipper (which further helps date this as mid-century) and top hook and eye makes it easy to put on and take off.

In photos of Doris Day, Audrey Hepburn, the Supremes or almost any movie star in the 1960's you will find this type of beaded dress. The emphasis on extensive beading at the neckline and cuffs was everywhere. It is also very representative of that era, with the looser shift shape, so unlike the tight waist styles of the 1950's.

There are no shoulder pads and the sheer lining is a soft white color sheer rayon.

Even thought it is missing the designer label, it is apparent that the workmanship and the quality are top notch.

All the seed beads and faux white pearl beading is intact on the dress itself. The aurora borealis beads, clear rhinestones, silver sequins, faux white pearls and blue bugle beads in the floral trim at the neck and cuffs is perfect.

The fabric is clean both for the lining and the beaded exterior. It is free of odors, stains or snags. As you can see in the photos there are minimal signs of prior wear. There is a bit of yellowing, due to age, on the inside lining at the neckline, however the underarms are clean.

It comes to you from a home with no pets and no smokers.

Due to the extensive beading, this dress has some weight, so it will cost more to ship. The weight is not an issue when it is worn due to the well-thought out construction of the style.
