Forstmann's women’s blue silk and wool skirt suit.
Gorgeous wool and silk blend skirt suit. Circa 1940s. Forstmann fabrics wool and silk blend navy blue with light blue woven in (closeup of fabric is best shown in the label photo).

The hourglass shaped jacket is darted for a perfect fit. Features a wide double layered collar and wrist length fold up cuffed sleeves as pictured. Functional front hip pockets with decorative flaps. Does up the center front with four 7/8" diameter self-covered domed buttons. Bound buttonholes (a sign of a quality suit). Completely lined with navy blue rayon crepe with small shoulder pads for shaping.

Matching four panel skirt features vertical hip darting and a 1-1/8" wide double layer self fabric waistband. Center back 4-3/4" tall kick pleat. Does up with a left side 7" metal zipper and one button. The front is unlined and the back is lined with navy blue crepe from the waist seam to just above the kick pleat.

SIZING: There are no size tags. Based on the measurements, I'd say this would best fit a modern size Large.
