40's Tailored Gray Wool Skirt Suit - Hand Detailed Hourglass Jacket$150.00
Gorgeous 1940s skirt suit with hand done decorative top stitching (picking).
The fabric is a medium weight medium gray wool and silk blend gabardine with subtle light blue and light coral vertical striping as pictured.
The hourglass shaped jacket is darted for a perfect fit. One center back vent at the bottom of the jacket.
Notched collar, winged wrist length sleeves and working front pockets with decorative flaps as pictured.
The collar, pocket flaps, winged sleeves and both sides of the front are accented with hand done decorative top stitching (picking) as pictured.
Completely lined with medium weight gray satin (probably acetate).
Small interior shoulder pads for shaping.
Does up the center front with five 3-D decorative lucite buttons and horizontal bound buttonholes.
Matching skirt with a banded waistband and inverted front darts.
A-line shape with a center back vent as pictured.
The skirt is not lined.
Does up the right side with a well working 6-1/2" metal zipper and hook and eye.
DESIGNER LABEL: None. This appears to be the work of a skilled home seamstress or possibly made by a tailor, as the workmanship is excellent.
CONDITION: Excellent - There are no stains, rips, holes, snags, odors, fading, discoloration or other issues.
SIZING: There are no size tags. Based on the measurements below, I'd say this would best fit a modern size Large.
