This 1940s strapless dress is absolutely beautiful -- a great choice for any formal event or even prom! It has a pink lining covered by a sheer layer of black. There are three applique bows - one at the chest and two on the skirt. They are made from a cream-colored brocade fabric, with an outline of silver seed beads. Just stunning!
The bodice has to bone for a nice structured look. It fastens up the side with a metal Talon zipper.
This gorgeous gown was designed by Nathalie Nicoli in the 1940s. Nicoli was born in Russia in 1900 and came to the United States as a political refugee. She had her own design house in San Francisco in the 1940s and 1950s. She was perhaps best known for her wool suits but also designed fabulous gowns like this one.
