Radiantly beautiful silk nightgown from the 1940s. Heavenly Silk Lingerie by Fischer was known as a high end maker of women's slips and nightgowns. I was able to track down an ad from 1948 featuring this same nightgown -- please note I've included that ad in the photos for reference/interest but there is no physical ad included in the sale of the nightgown.

The ad characterizes this nightgown better than I could: "In quest of beauty! Individual as your own peerless taste, the quiet grandeur of a nightgown by Fischer. Dreamed up for you in silk par excellence... cap-sleeved and bordered in a fine, rich lace."

Please note that the gown is slightly more blue than it appears in the photos. It catches the light so much that it really appears silver in the sunlight, but the blue is more evident in lower lighting.
