This very rare find was aquired from an estate sale that took place in a historic hotel that was built in 1910. Originally this gown was in rough shape. I've done my best to remove the overall intense staining as much as possible and mend the compromised areas using methods that would not damage the delicate silk fabrics. Dress has a shiny silk underlining that is bias cut so you know it is intended to be worn with a petticoat or hoop skirt. It is pictured with two crinoline petticoats and it still has plenty of room to fill it out.

Condition: Item is very delicate and has been clearly loved by the previous owner. There's a hand-sewn darning patch on the back bodice as pictured, there is light staining still in some areas and small holes in inconspicuous places that have occurred due to aging (some examples are in the photos in the listing). On the inside lining there is some fraying but seams are in tact. I took this restoration as far as I felt capable, without compromising the original gown, and I'm leaving the rest to whomever decides to rehome this beauty and if they see a need for more.
