Feast your eyes on this lovely lady! 1940's Rothmoor two piece skirt and jacket set. GORGEOUS plum/imperial purple color!
Such a classic look! A well tailored suit with darts and shoulder pads to give that 40's silhouette that we all love. Features star detail on the buttons, and two front pockets. Jacket is fully lined, skirt is not lined. No tag to indicate fabric, but it looks and feels to be wool gabardine.
Button front closure on the jacket with hook and eye, and a metal zip and hook and eye closure on the skirt.
This suit is in good to very good condition.
The skirt has some wear on the waistband, and also a hole measuring about 3/4" across is just below the waistband, near the zipper. There are also a couple smaller holes on the waistband. These flaws would be hidden by the jacket. There are a few small moth holes near the hem.
The jacket has some small moth holes on the collar, the back, the left shoulder and sleeve (see photos). There is also a small stain inside, on the lining. Most of the buttons are losing their color - paint is chipping.
Any of these small issues can be easily repaired. There is at least 2" of extra fabric at the hem of the skirt that you could use to make a small patch or two.
Other than these minor flaws, this suit is in fantastic condition. The lining is intact, no seam separation, even in the armpits!
There is no stretch to this garment, so please note measurements carefully. Measurements were taken lying flat, on the outside of the garment.
