1940's RARE and Collectible PLASTICFLEX Faux Tortoiseshell and Cream Tile Clutch

This Lovely 1940's Clutch is done in a Beautiful Warm Brown Colorway. The Condition is qualified as Good Vintage Condition with no broken tiles or zipper area deterioration.

During WWII many materials were being utilized Overseas and Plastic was a Great Alternative for Handbags and Womens Accessories. This handbag is made of linked two tone faux tortoiseshell and cream plastic squares. It opens with a metal zipper. It is lined in a checked brown and cream fabric with a slide pocket. There is a two-sided mirror in the slide pocket. There is not a label inside. The style and fabrication indicate this is a Plasticflex. feThe patent for the Plasticflex Brand Name was Granted in September of 1941 and the US entered into WWII after Pearly Harbor in December of 1942. It may be even older than the typical tile plasticflex. It could be that this clutch was made prior to the patent release.

Good Vintage Condition - This Purse is qualified as Good Vintage Condition. There are just a couple of foibles to note. There is a little yellowing on a few of the Cream Tiles on both sides. The inside fabric has a few brown stains. None of these affect the Useability or Beauty of this Clutch from the 1940's. What a Great Purse to add to Your Collection and to Carry!
