40s Navy Blue Crepe Beaded Top Elegant$55.00
DETAILS: This elegant top most likely dates to the late 1940s - it has modestly padded shoulders, a vee neck, and defined waist with peplum in front. The upper front is embellished with a decorative yoke look, created with a zigzag pattern of bugle beads filled with tiny seed beads that become more scattered as they move up toward the shoulder seam. The scattered beads continue onto the three-quarter length sleeves.
SIZE: No size label
Bust - 41" (104 cm)
Shoulders - 16" (40.5 cm)
Waist - 34" (86.25 cm)
Length from shoulder to hem - 22" (56 cm)
FABRIC/COLORS: Navy blue crepe, most likely rayon. Embellished with glass seed beads and bugle beads.
TAGS: No tags
CLOSURES: The front opens completely - closes with two self-fabric covered buttons with a snap at the bottom of the vee neckline, and a hook & eye at the waist.
CONDITION: There is a bit of sun fade and color turn to reddish at the back of the neck extending onto the tops of shoulders. It is gradual and pretty subtle unless you compare the color to an unaffected area. Vintage dyes were often unstable, and susceptible to shifting toward red over time. No other issues noted.
