This is a large statement ring. The cut topaz colored glass measures .75 inch and was made to mimic a topaz. The antiqued gold setting holding the stone is 1 inch with a detailed open work spiral pattern. The twisted antiqued gold shaft of the ring is a size 6, but will adjust to a bigger size. The prongs holding the stone in seem to be strong and secure. These large rings with cut glass were commonly known as cocktail rings at the time. This one is an early one from the 1940's.
