DETAILS: Is there any garment that is a better combination of figure flattering and practical than a 1940s vintage suit jacket? I think not, and this vintage jacket is a great illustration of the genre, with its padded shoulders, exaggerated flyout lapel collar points, and nipped waist. The faux handwarmer pockets add visual interest with their scalloped tops, and I particularly like the curving back yoke.
SIZE: No size label
Bust - 37" (94 cm)
Shoulders - 16. 5" (42 cm)
Waist - 29" (73. 5 cm)
Length - 26. 5" (67. 25 cm)
Sleeve length - 23" (58. 5 cm)
FABRIC/COLORS: Navy blue gabardine, in a weight slightly heavier than typical suiting material. I believe it is wool, but cannot confirm with a fiber burn test due to the careful finishing with all seams inaccessible. The jacket is fully lined in navy blue crepe.
TAGS: Rollman's, Cincinnati
CLOSURES: Four self-fabric "mushroom" buttons with bound buttonholes. There is a spare button sewn inside the jacket, a relative rarity for the time
CONDITION: No stains, holes, tears or other issues noted.
