Gorgeous forest green 1940's two piece skirt set by Joseph Magnin. What a classic, lovely set!! This is the perfect 40's silhouette with the big shoulders, and tailored waist.
Made of wool gabardine, this set features:
-Self covered buttons with stitch detail
-Two faux front pockets
-Shoulder pads
-Side metal zip and button skirt fastener
-"Coat and Suit Industry" label
The jacket is lined, the skirt is not. Skirt features two small slits.
Please note: This set is being sold AS-IS. Because she is around 75-80 years old, and made of wool, she has several moth holes. There are quite a few on the collar, especially on the back of the collar. Other moth holes are randomly spread around the jacket and skirt, but the worst part is on the collar. You will also see some on the cuffs.
There is a split in the skirt at the waistband, most likely from moth holes (see photo). It measures about an inch across.
There is also a seam separation at one of the skirt seams, also about an inch long.
The lining is in overall good shape, but is separating in a couple spots, and does have some fading.
These issues are all fixable, and the garment is 100% wearable. There is enough fabric in the hem of the skirt to make repairs to the moth holes, if you chose to take that route.
There is a stain on the front left breast area on the jacket - looks like a water stain, and is not really noticeable unless you look closely. I have not laundered the suit, so it is possible this stain could come out.
There is NO stretch to this garment, so please note measurements carefully.
