40s Chalkware Salt and Pepper Skunks Carnival Prize

Cute little carnival prize from the 1940s. “Carnival chalk” refers to chalkware figures given out as carnival game prizes during the first half of the 20th century, especially during World War II. They were later replaced by stuffed animals. These particular skunks are actual salt and pepper shakes with a cork bottom. Marked made in USA on the bottom.

Measures

1 1/4 x 2 1/2

condition: paint is peeling (naturally) the salt and pepper holes are open. the corks are going to need to be dug out! I think best used as decorative pieces.
