This is a rare and absolutely beautiful box bag straight from WW2. This box bag is made of woven bamboo pieces with a two flap opening, a button and loop closure, and a shoulder strap. Aside from its obvious beauty and age, what makes this purse a collector's item is that it was made in "Occupied Japan" which is indicated on its tag. Japan was occupied from the summer of 1945 to the spring of 1952 but the box bag was only popular through the late 40s so this was most likely made between 1945 and 1948.

It’s in great condition with the only flaws being two very small frays in the rounded trim on the shoulder strap which can be seen in the pictures and is very minute and is expected regular wear on a piece this age. This bag would be a great addition to any 1940s or handbag collection!
