Incredible 1940s jacket

- Black velvet / velveteen lined with gorgeous ribbon-print silk

- Unique sailor-style felt collar - not quite sure how it was meant to be worn (see pics), but it’s very cool!

- Puffed shoulders (no shoulder pads)

- Large pointy cuffs backed with felt

- Asymmetrical loop and button closure

- Feels like it is lined with fleece for extra warmth

- No labels

Good condition with lots of life left!

- This piece was missing original buttons and so we replaced all of them with buttons for a matching look. There are more buttons than loops, but that is the original pattern that we worked from...perhaps the extras were for decoration!

-A seam has popped on the lining along the bottom of the coat (that’s how we were able to investigate the thick lining)—I’ve left as is.

- Some repairs to the lining on the inside of the shoulder. The silk had started to split so I put a few stitches in but they are not the most beautiful (luckily, not noticeable at all when worn!)

- A couple tiny black spots on lining
