1940's Black Monkey Fur Jacket.
She evokes controversy and rock 'n roll vibes. Badass and makes no apologies, she's a head turner and simply stunning.
We are fierce animal lovers and advocates and do not condone nor support the modern fur trade, however, we respect this jacket as a piece of fashion history. In fact, an exact replica is featured at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising Museum.
During the 40's, Elsa Schiaparelli famously made monkey fur popular from her Parisian design house. Many designers of her era indulged in the trend, and these pieces are becoming more rare and valuable.
Made of Colobus monkey fur which is over five inches long, shiny and slightly coarse. Lined in black satin, unlabeled and open style.
Shoulders 15", bust 34" or 36" (laying flat no pulling) sleeve 17" (22" w/ fur) waist 36", hip 36", length 17" (22" w/fur).
Modern size is S and condition is Excellent. Model is 5'11".
