In the 40's, women's hats went from the ridiculous to the sublime. This one may be closer to the former than the latter. It almost looks like Mickey Mouse ears, but on close inspection, both the design & work are pretty amazing. Small wool felt half cap with brass grommets, a felt bow at each side and a flower made of feathers! If you check ALL photos, you will see that the elastic was broken but new clear elastic replaced it so it's hard to see. If you have your own thin elastic, you can thread it through the felt tabs and customize fit. It has no flaws. It has a maker mark but it's difficult to read: "94% wool, 6% other ___, American S-----"
