This is a beautiful late 1940s black and white mini houndstooth check all weather coat.

The fabric is a medium weight rayon gabardine as pictured.

Small collar and the sleeves have turnback winged cuffs.

Right and left hip level pockets with self fabric facings as pictured.

There are shoulder pads between the coat and lining.

The coat is fully lined with soft black satin (probably acetate).

Does up the center front with four 1" diameter black lucite buttons as pictured.

Mid to lower calf length. I'm 5'4" and the coat falls to my lower calf.

DESIGNER LABEL: None. This may have been handmade by a skilled seamstress or tailor.

SIZING: There are no size tags. Based on the measurements below and leaving room for clothes underneath, I'd say this would best fit a modern size Large.

Outer Sleeves: 22-1/2" - includes wide turnback winged cuff

Inner Sleeves: 16"

Bust: 40"

Waist: 42"

Hips: 46"

Bottom Sweep: 54" Around

Length: 47" - Center Back to Hem

Pockets: 6-1/2" Deep and 6-1/4" Wide

CONDITION: Excellent. There are no stains, holes, rips, tears, snags, fading, discoloration, or other issues. The only thing is a very slight storage odor which will come out with professional dry cleaning.
