40s/50s Wool 3-piece Skirt Suit With Atomic Novelty Print$85.00
Vintage Wool Skirt Suit, 3-Piece Matching Set w/ Atomic Novelty Print
Label: Forstmann Woolens
Fabric: Jacket and skirt are wool. Blouse and jacket lining are rayon.
Features: The skirt is unlined with side zip closure. The waistband feels insubstantial.
The blouse has a collar in the front and the back. One side of the blouse buttons up, and the other side has pretty pleats. The blouse is meant to be tucked in because it was hemmed with a visible ribbon. The jacket has cool asymmetrical cuffs and a full lining.
Condition: All buttons are present. The interior neckline is a bit dingy. There is a vintage storage smell. See close-up pictures for a couple of small stains on blouse. No holes.
Skirt Measurements:
Waist: 28"; Hip: 39"-40"; Length: 25.5"
Jacket Measurements:
Bust: 36"; Waist: 34"; Length: 16"; Sleeve: 17"; Back width: 14.5"
Blouse Measurements:
Bust: 42"; Waist: 42"; Length: Approx. 20.5"; Back width: 14.5"
Era: This was difficult to date. It gives a 1940s / 50s vibe. The label in the jacket is pre 1960, and the zipper in the skirt is post 1960. I believe the skirt originally had a different zipper that was replaced at some point.
Care: I recommend dry cleaning because dye bleed is a potential concern.
