40s/50s Unique Shape Decorative Textile With Silk Stitches

When you love to decorate EVERYTHING, use this little table runner/cover...

This item was handmade and sourced from Sweden. At the latest, this piece is from the 1950's (possibly circa 1910's-30's). It's a lovely handmade piece, with a stiff linen or cotton weave base fabric, in a medallion style shape. It has been completely edged with a hand-made scallop style lace trim. Throughout the base fabric is satin style embroidery stitching, which utilizes an incredibly shiny and supple silk thread in ivory or off-white color. The design depicts a flower at bottom, with jutting leaves and tendrils, and a basket-style design at the top with more leaves. Completely handmade, except for edging trim which was machine stitched. Overall condition is very good, with a few pinhead sized, light rust color spots throughout, and a few missing stitches from upper right corner. Please see photographs for full details.
