Floral chintz with gold trim square covered butter or cheese dish. Royal Winton made in England.

Made with a lithographic process, biscuitware (unglazed) is dipped and dries for 24 hours, fired, back stamped. The sheet of chintz is applied with great care afterwards. The worker applying the chintz would add her mark to return the piece if it wasn't acceptable.

The stamp on this piece - the "A" mark was used from 1945.

Condition issues on this piece include crazing under the lid, discoloration, and the same on the plate. Neither seen when displayed as a whole. See photos. A piece in excellent condition retails for $180. This piece priced accordingly. Touch of glaze wear on the lid on corner/side, no chips or cracks. Gold wear expected for the age.
