This is just a wonderful 40s/50s hostess set of a dressing gown styled jacket and cigarette pants. The dressing gown is made of a silvery gray rayon taffeta, with pink satin lining in the opening. The jacket has a rolled collar with cuffed ¾ length dolman sleeves. It buttons up the front, shirt style, with 3 matching fabric-covered buttons. There are tiny shoulder pads in the shoulders to help give the jacket some structure. The skirt of the jacket is full, densely gathered at the waist, and is open from the waist down.

The pants are made of a matching pink satin to the lining on the skirt of the jacket. They are cigarette styled and are slim fit to the ankle. They have a waistband with snaps and hook and eye fastenings at the left side and a metal zipper. (there is some seam allowance on the left side of the pants so they could be let out about a 1". My mannequin also does not have any hips. I tried to pad it out to look more realistic but I don't think it gets close to doing justice to the fit and shape.)

There is also a matching belt of the taffeta with a chunky rhinestone and gold buckle. There is a label on the jacket and it reads: Fashion By Flobert.

Condition:

The set is in great condition with only the most minor flaws to note. The satin pants do have some slight fading around the knees but it is really hard to see especially when worn with the jacket. There is also some creasing from the pants being pressed down the front, but it is faint. This set is overall still in fantastic condition and is so stunning. It has been professionally hand laundered and is ready to wear.
